The 52Capitan in a glanzed magazine!

This month issue of "GATEBIL MAGAZINE" has a report from SCC 2009 at Gardermoen in Norway. The 52Capitan is present with a nice photoshoot and funny text. You can also spot my oval and the mini-VW made by my father.

Frontbeam

I am going to change for the original frontaxle. The original is in good shape, but need of course a little TLC. The clips will be restored and welded in some new parts. I now that K-N makes them repro, but this can be fixed. I am also happy for finding the correct alu-nut for the speedocable.

Swapfind

I think its cool to find a early 25 HP tin, and a NOS glass for the interiorlight.

Yesterday I got some help from "Boblehue" with the engine. The engine is the OG from the "52 Capitan". The engine needs to be checked out and will maybe need some more work than I hoped for.

I have been working with some different things in my basement. F.ex. a lot of OG toolmaps and OG tools. I love the original tools that come with the oldest VW. And of course Hazet.

Swapping

Last night at Ole Runes garage I did come home with this stuff. The VW-sign has the right barn-dust-look over it.

Soon indooractivity

My splitt is inside the workshop again. The frontbeam will be changed to the original. I will need new front schoks and som clips. I will also work a little bit more with the brakes and patina. More pics and info here soon.

For some weeks ago I got this nice Petri steeringweel in the mailbox. I am now searching for a hornring.

The Capitans new sunglasses?

This years SCC had a lot of cool stuff at the swapmeet. I bougt this sunvisor-options for my 52 split and some roll-up-toolkits for oval-erea.

Three of the cars

Last week three of the cars in Solberg-family was at the same place. My 57, my dads 70`and my 52 Capitan. The black beauty is sadly driven inside the barn for winterstorage.

Thanks to good help from my parents I was able to display my two cars, the mini-VW and the little VW-dog Woffe. The Capitan did a great sucess:)

Boblehue and myself arranged a little cruising in Drammen last night. 13 cars took part this time and we had a great time.

The 52 Capitan rides again!

Finally the 52 Capitan rides again. Me and my father had a hard turn last wednesday, and the car did roll by it self on asfalt for the first time since 1964. The very first trip was made to the gas-station for the very first fuel from a real gas-station. Last time the car visited a gas-station a man came out and helped you filling gas:) Maybe he did wash your frontscreeen as well? It was a pleasure to drive the car for the first time. You will see it at this years SCC...
